Weekending: At home
It has been a long while since I’ve been on this much-missed and much-loved space. It’s good to drop in and come back amidst all the busy-ness and lead up to the holiday season.
This weekend was the first slow one I’ve had in a long while where I haven’t had to rush off somewhere, either going to a yoga class or getting up in the dark to head off for a yoga teacher training weekend or getting stuff done or working. The slowness is so welcome and oh so good.
This weekend saw all three of us in bed in the mornings, taking our time, having lots of laughs and silly chats, and reading stories in our pyjamas. We decorated our tree (Bea was very excited about this) while listening to Christmas songs. There’s been lots of log fires and the sweet smell of pine has been filling our living room.
There’s been lots of family time and togetherness; a bit of playing hide-and-seek, a bit of Christmas shopping and quite a bit of staying up late into the night to finish my 5000-word essay on why I’d like to do yoga teacher training. Luckily, Bea has slept through the past couple of nights. It’s also been fun to briefly catch some friends on Facebook chat late at night.
There’s been lots of Duplo/Lego building; catching up with family on video chat. There’s even been lovely late night chats in front of the fire, eating chocolate brownie gateaux with vanilla ice cream…when Bea was already in bed. And there’s been time (!!) to write this post for the blog – it’s good to join Amanda again.
So much loveliness, slowness and coziness. Hope you’re all having a wonderful weekend, too. Here’s to an equally lovely, slow and cozy week ahead.
